Where brands are reimagined and alliances begin.
Partnership Brand is a boutique brand strategy and partnership consultancy built around one powerful idea: a brand’s next opportunity often exists outside the places it is already looking.
We help companies discover those opportunities by identifying new audiences, new customer channels, new cultural intersections, and new worlds of possibility, then creating the strategies, concepts, and partnerships that connect them.
We begin with the brand itself. Its heartbeat. What makes it distinctive, ownable, relevant, and capable of extending into new territory. From there, we look outward, across industries, categories, communities, culture, and consumer behavior, to uncover connections others may not see.
Sometimes that means finding a company whose customers should become your customers. Sometimes it means creating an entirely new channel of distribution. Sometimes it means extending a brand beyond its traditional product or experience. And sometimes it means bringing two seemingly unrelated brands together and discovering that the intersection between them is where the greatest opportunity exists.
“We do not simply ask, who should this brand partner with.We ask, who already has this brand’s next customer.”
“Then we create the reason those worlds should come together.”
From initial strategy and ideation through concept development, partner identification, outreach, negotiation, and activation, Partnership Brand transforms unexpected connections into meaningful business opportunities.
Two ventures were born from that same instinct. The Concept Bar Studio is our high velocity ideation and strategy destination, built to uncover bold alliances and brand partnerships designed to open new channels of distribution and reach new audiences for the brands involved. On Signal invites you to explore that same thinking for yourself, an interactive read on where your brand’s next real alliance lives, and a way to engage with our approach before the work even begins.
New audiences. New channels. New partnerships. New possibilities.
Partnership Brand. Connecting brands with what comes next.
It Started With A Different Way Of Seeing Brands.
Partnership Brand was founded in 1999, but the thinking behind it began years earlier.
Our roots combine experience inside leading marketing, advertising, communications, and public relations agencies with hands-on brand management experience in the packaged goods world. That combination gave us an unusual perspective from the beginning: understanding both how brands are built from the inside and how they are expressed, marketed, and experienced from the outside.
Our earliest work brought that thinking into Hollywood and entertainment, working alongside Sony Music, Sony Wonder, Universal Studios’ Consumer Products Group, Twentieth Century Fox, and others. Much of the work initially centered around promotions, connecting entertainment properties with major consumer brands to create new ways to reach audiences.
But we quickly realized something.
Promotions were transactional. Partnerships could be transformational.
A promotion had a beginning and an end. But when two brands were strategically aligned around shared customers, complementary strengths, and a meaningful reason to come together, the opportunity could sit much higher within the marketing strategy.
That realization became Partnership Brand.
The work soon expanded beyond entertainment and into destinations, experiences, and consumer brands. One of the clearest early expressions was our decade-long alliance between LEGOLAND California and Volvo Cars of North America. This wasn’t simply a logo or sponsorship. A life-size Volvo was constructed entirely from LEGO bricks, while a real Volvo was integrated directly into the park’s driving experience.
The partnership became part of the experience itself.
As Partnership Brand evolved, our work began moving even further upstream.
Clients increasingly looked to us not only to create partnerships, but to help hone, refine, reposition, and extend their brands. Through research, consumer insight, strategy, and ideation, we began exploring what consumers were changing, what they needed next, and how brands could evolve to remain relevant to them.
That led to another important realization: before we can determine who a brand should partner with, we need to understand what makes that brand matter.
We call it finding the heartbeat of the brand.
What does the brand stand for? What makes it distinctive? What does the consumer truly value about it? Where does it have permission to go next? And where might there be new audiences, new channels, new experiences, and new opportunities that others simply aren’t seeing?
That thinking continues to define Partnership Brand today.
Over more than 25 years, we have worked across entertainment, travel and tourism, hospitality, automotive, packaged goods, food and beverage, retail, destinations, and culture, collaborating with leading companies and brands to solve very different challenges through one consistent philosophy:
Understand the brand. Understand the consumer. Discover what comes next.
Today, Partnership Brand remains what it was built to be: a family run, deliberately boutique consultancy. We believe being boutique keeps us closer to our clients, closer to the ideas, and closer to the work itself. Our roots also run deeply through the USC Trojan family, with alumni represented throughout our executives and advisors.
We have evolved considerably since 1999. From promotions to partnerships. From partnerships to brand strategy. From strategy to ideation, repositioning, new audiences, new channels, and entirely new possibilities.
But the idea at the center of Partnership Brand has never really changed.
The greatest opportunities are often found between the places everyone else is already looking.
We find them. We connect them. And we help brands turn them into what comes next.
